The Godfather of the Virginia Diamonds

Bill "Bobby Cox" Auman

The head of the Virginia Diamonds, Bill Auman, deserves all the recognition for the program getting on its feet and becoming what is known as one of the powerhouses of Virginia AAU and Travel Baseball. He is very well known throughout the baseball family in Virginia, coaching several teams to State and National Championships. He now oversees the entire program as the "Bobby Cox" of the Virginia Diamonds.

The Virginia Diamonds is now considered amongst the best in the State winning several AAU State Championships. Coach Bill has been a part of every single team's success whether it was coaching the teams, recruiting the talent, or even recruiting the coaching staff. He now oversees the expansion of the program developing young kids' talents and showcasing older kids for their future.

As a former owner of Bill's Sporting Goods and partner in MVP Sports Indoor Batting Cage, he has been very well known throughout the sporting world, especially with baseball. The very best from Newport News, Hampton, York County, Poquoson, Williamsburg, James City County, Gloucester, Suffolk, Chesapeake, and Virginia Beach have traveled to play on a Bill Auman Virginia Diamonds travel baseball team. With his consistent winning program, it has expanded tremendously over the last year.

"Bobby Cox" now oversees four Virginia Diamonds teams. He has recruited a coaching staff fitted with young, recent graduates of college headed by his very own son, a baseball alumnus of Christopher Newport University. With such growth over the last year, he has restructured the program. There are two young teams, a 12U and 13U that are focused on developing the kids' talents. There are also two older teams, a 15U and Showcase team that will now be used to showcase the kids that we have helped developed during their younger years. He has a vision to help the kids that normally not have the opportunity, to get to college and play baseball.

Bill continues to plan out the Virginia Diamonds future. As the Godfather of the Virginia Diamonds, he is very popular and well loved in the baseball family.
